You are currently viewing [Makati EATS] Swiss Delights at Old Swiss Inn

There’s always a first time for everything, right? Well, this EATSperience of mine is a first. My first time dining in a Swiss restaurant that has been really famous for so many years now. It was like a “Where have you been?” moment for me, hehe! I was really thinking why my wife and I haven’t dined here before. Thanks to our friends from the Kain Tulog Gang, I was given a chance to discover this famous restaurant that serves authentic Swiss and European cuisine. In this edition of EATSplorations, I will be sharing about a Makati EATS favorite, Swiss Delights at Old Swiss Inn. If you haven’t been here before and you’ve been wanting to try it out, this EATSperience of mine might just convince you to finally come over and try out what they have to offer.

The Old Swiss Inn at Somerset Olympia!

Finally, The Old Swiss Inn!

Old Swiss Inn is located at the Ground Floor of Somerset Olympia along Makati Avenue in Urdaneta, Makati. Spotting the restaurant was pretty easy, thanks to the Swiss flags hanging from the ceiling and the tables and chairs outside the restaurant.

Old Swiss Inn definitely has that fine dining feel. It really looks like a great place for an intimate meal. Can’t wait to bring Mrs. Eats here!

Table for two?

Don’t worry, Old Swiss Inn is also spacious enough for big groups! They even have their own function rooms for meetings and events.

Time to EATSperience the food at Old Swiss Inn!

Goulash (Php 330) – Old Swiss Inn’s Signature Soup with Spices, Beef, and Vegetables

Starting a meal with a hearty soup is always ideal. This Goulash was definitely a hearty and a tasty start to a great meal. Well done, Old Swiss Inn!

Sausage Platter (Php 1,550) – Schublig, Veal, Hungarian, and Pork with Potatoes and Sauerkraut

This one is a great appetizer for sharing especially if you are dining with friends and family. I enjoyed all four sausages but my favorite was the traditional Swiss smoked sausage, the Schublig.

Smoked Scamorza – Smoky Italian Semi-Soft Cheese similar to Raclette

This is the best cheese dish that I’ve ever had! I am really not a cheese person but this one was really really amazing. Our host from Old Swiss Inn mentioned that it’s a fairly new item on the menu but it definitely deserves its spot. I love its smokiness and crispy crust. It goes perfectly with Old Swiss Inn’s house made bread.

Corned Beef (Php 690) – Corned Beef Brisket with Potatoes and Sauteed Cabbage

I love this one! Why? Because of the tender and fatty brisket that’s perfectly seasoned. I got to enjoy the amazing quality and flavor of the brisket because the seasoning was just right. This one’s a must try dish!

Gnagi (Php 860) – Cured Baked Pork Knuckles with Potatoes and Sauerkraut

This one’s pretty similar to the famous Filipino dish, the Crispy Pata. However, it was more flavorful because it was cured. The skin was really crispy and the meat was tender and flaky. I would definitely order this when I’m with a group of friends.

Slow Roast Angus Beef Belly

My hands down favorite of my first-ever Old Swiss Inn EATSperience! Nothing beats a perfectly cooked Angus Beef Belly. This one really has awesome written all over it! Super tender, juicy, and not much chewing needed. I could have easily eaten 4-5 slices of it. Definitely coming back for this!

Wagyu Skewers Raclette (Php 1,490) – Raclette Cheese, Real Wagyu Beef, Cherry Tomatoes, Mushrooms, and Assorted Vegetables

Just when I thought we were finished, our host asked us if we wanted to try one of their signature Raclette Grill Set. Of course, who are we to say no, right? I was really full but I had to admit, I enjoyed my first Old Swiss Inn EATSperience even more because of the Raclette Grill. I love that the Wagyu Beef was real and it wasn’t one of those “Wagyu Cubes.” Also, the Raclette cheese just goes along perfectly with almost anything, meat or veggies. For Php 1,490, I could say that it has great value for money because of the EATSperience and how surprisingly filling it is.

Just look at how beautiful the Raclette cheese flows down the meat and veggies!

Toblerone Fondue (Php 650) – Original Toblerone Chocolate (choice of white, dark, or milk chocolate) with Cream

After EATSperiencing all the filling cheeses, meats, and veggies, I still had enough room for dessert. Yes, believe me, I still had room for dessert. Who wouldn’t? Old Swiss Inn’s Toblerone Fondue looked really tempting! All that melted Toblerone in a huge pot was enough motivation for me to keep going. And I was really happy I kept going. It was pure chocolate heaven! It was really sweet but perfect after all the savory dishes I had. This is the ultimate dessert after all the superb Swiss delights at Old Swiss Inn!

All good things must come to an end, well, my Old Swiss Inn EATSperience that is. I was pleasantly surprised on how awesome my overall EATSperience was. I loved the food, the place, and the service! Old Swiss Inn has the complete package. It’s definitely great for an intimate meal, lunch out with colleagues, feast with family and friends. Price range of the dishes might be a little high but the flavor and the serving size surely makes up for it. Will I come back? Of course! I will make sure to take Mrs. Eats and Baby Eats along with me. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations, ’til next time!
