Ready for Valentine’s Day?

It’s once again Valentines day!

The one day of the year where all of us are more inspired to be a bit more romantic. Blame the romantic comedies that we all secretly watch but anywhere you look, you will find red roses on sale on the street, stuffed animals, boxes of chocolate, and of course, the candy hearts.

Whether you love Valentine’s Day or hate it, one thing’s clear: Valentine’s Day history goes way back.

Valentine’s Day goes way back to 500 AD. It is known as the feast day of Saint Valentine who was known to be a Roman Catholic priest who would marry soldiers who were forbidden to marry, as a Roman emperor decreed that married men did not make good soldiers and banned young men to get married.

This Saint Valentine wore a ring with a Cupid on it—a symbol of love—that helped soldiers recognize him. And, in a precursor to greeting cards, he handed out paper hearts to remind Christians of their love for God.

Today, it is known as a day of love that is celebrated all over the world, by lovers, friends, and even family.
