Visita Iglesia is one of the most popular traditions that Filipinos practice during the Holy Week.
The tradition involves visiting seven churches that symbolises Jesus’ seven holy wounds. While it is usually 7 churches, some also practice 14 churches to symbolise the stations of the cross. This practice allows devotees to spend time with Jesus during his last moments, and encourages us to reflect on his sacrifice and how we can apply this to our daily lives.
Here is a list of churches to visit during this yearly devotion:
During this lenten season, Filipinos also practice fasting and abstinence on all Fridays of Lent, as a form of personal penance for the sacrifice of our Lord.
Old Swiss Inn has several options for those who are observing this lenten sacrifice. Try the new Neptune Fondue , the wealth of the sea on your table. A platter of salmon, shrimps, fish fillet, squid and scallops, dipped in saffron-infused seafood stock and served with a carousel of sauces and garlic rice.
Make peace and repent, spend all Fridays of Lent at the Old Swiss Inn.
